WORK HISTORY

Senior Control Systems Engineer, Able-Baker Automation, Inc

Integrated programmable controller, syringe pump controller, scale unit, and three different motion controllers into a single Intellution front end. This machine manufactures medical components to high tolerances. Assisted with FDA validation for the machine.

Participated in the design, installation and startup of two high value plastics recycling plants in China and Austria.  Work included PLC programming and network design as well as on site and remote SCADA systems.  Implemented remote monitoring system over encrypted VPN to protect client's intellectual property.

Expanded the Control System network at a Foundry to include all of their PLCs and operator interfaces.  Combined EtherNet/IP, DH+ and DeviceNet networks into one integrated control system network.  Designed and installed the SCADA system to monitor the entire foundry from the Cupola to the Pipe Machines and Waste Water Treatment.  Data logging system logs vital data for reporting to the EPA.  Data is also replicated and served to web clients for analysis without ever allowing users to access the primary database.

Director of Information Services, Baking Machines

Director of Information Services. Duties include direct supervision of Systems Engineer. Responsible for all information systems and corporate network. Duties include maintaining Windows 9x, NT, and 2000 computers and servers. Database administration utilizing legacy Micro Focus Cobol database and new MS-SQL database. Have written several applications to provide the "glue" for integrating applications using VB and VBA. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite as well as Small Business Server and Back Office and Exchange Server.

Director of Manufacturing, Baking Machines

Director of Manufacturing. Duties included direct supervision of Plant Manager, Electrical Department Manager, Assembly Department Manager, Director of Engineering and Service Department Manager. I was responsible for the over sight of the manufacturing, planning, scheduling and control. Responsible for implementing procedures for tracking and controlling manufacturing processes. In the absence of the Vice President of Sales, I acted as a customer liaison to resolve a multitude of issues dealing with design, delivery, etc. Position involved a high level of accountability in all phases of the day to day operations of the company. Project Engineer, ADI Control Techniques

Project Manager for the Industrial Controls group. Primary job description included supervision of field technicians and shop foreman as well as engineered systems design. Involved in software development for factory automation using Visual Basic, DPL, Intellution. Also required to interface systems to existing plant automation systems using various communication protocols. Projects range from Wire Drawing and Winder applications, to building management systems and commercial HVAC. Involved with development of a Real Time Pricing, RTP, program with PG&E for the San Francisco Marriot. Also worked on a project to monitor remote sites via the internet in real time. Systems monitored are building access, environmental control and critical building systems.

James River Corporation, Antioch, CA

Mechanical Development Engineer in charge of robotics and automation. Duties were primarily involved with programming of FANUC Robots and Texas Instruments programmable logic controllers used in production. I was tasked with the design, development and implementation of Robotic work cells including interfacing with the existing plant automation system. All aspects of software development, electrical design and safety were included in my job description. Antioch site was closed and operations moved to Neena, Wisconsin

Western Technology Marketing, Mountain View, CA

Applications Engineer for the Northern California and Northern Nevada region. Participated in the design, sales and commissioning of a variety of motion control and automation systems. Primary focus was on stepper and servo motor systems and precision positioning systems. Also worked on systems utilizing HMI software such as Intellution's FIX DMACS and FIXMMI and Wonderware's Intouch. Worked with Industrial Computing systems based on STD and ISA architectures as well as many PLCs such as AB, TI, IDEC and Keyence. Left to pursue a position with James River in Robotics

Left to pursue a position which would be more challenging in its technical requirements
